Professional profile
Prime Minister Ján Bujňák is an erudite obstetrician, gynecologist and oncogynecologist. He received his professional education and specialization in gynecology and obstetrics at the Faculty of Specialized Studies of the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava. He received the title of doctor of philosophy (PhD) in the field at the Faculty of Health and Social Work of the University of Trnava. He passed the specialization exam in Oncology in Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Comenius University in Bratislava. He began his professional career as a secondary physician at the Louis Pasteur University Hospital in Košice. Later he worked as a secondary physician of the Oncology and Gynecology Department at the Trebišov Hospital and as a secondary physician of the Oncology and Gynecology Department of the East Slovak Oncology Institute. He currently works as the chief physician in the field of gynecology and obstetrics in the Sveta zdravia network of hospitals, and at the same time as the head of the oncogynecology department at the Michalovce hospital. He has extensive experience in directing the operation of gynecology and obstetrics departments of the network of hospitals, in preparing the creation of an oncogynecology competence team, working in the department and in operating rooms, with USG examinations, or outpatient activities. His numerous lecturing activities relate mainly to the field of diagnosis and treatment of cervical dysplasia, HPV infection and cervical lesions.
Doctor Ján Bujňák is a member of the Slovak Gynecological and Obstetrical Society and a member of the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO).
