Professional profile
Professor Peter Urdzík is an experienced doctor, a specialist in the medical field of gynecology and obstetrics, urogynecology and minimally invasive surgical treatment with several years of experience and several certifications. After completing his studies in general medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the Comenius University in Bratislava, in 1997 he joined the gynecology-obstetrics department of the National Hospital in Veľky Krtíš as a secondary physician. From 2002 until now, he has been working at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the LF UPJŠ and UN L. Pasteur in Košice, first as an assistant professor, from 2011 as an associate professor and from 2022 as a professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. From 2011 until now, he has been working as the head of the Gynecology and Obstetrics clinic.
Professor Urdzík is an important expert in the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic floor defects in women and in the field of minimally invasive surgical treatment (hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, uterine fibroids and endometriosis). He is the author of many scientific articles and professional lectures in the field of urogynecology, ultrasound diagnostics, oncological diseases and pelvic floor rehabilitation. In addition to professional clinical practice, he is also a regional expert of Košice VÚC in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics, vice-president of the Slovak Gynecology and Obstetrics Society SLS, vice-president of the Academic Senate of the LF UPJŠ in Košice, vice-president of the Urogynecology Section of the SLS SGPS and consultant of the ÚDZS in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
